Why attend?

Most people think that serious business fraud only happens to huge corporations. The sad truth is that small to medium-sized businesses are far more vulnerable. That vulnerability to fraud can be compounded because of several key reasons. One is the sometimes informal approach to oversight of security procedures. Another is that fewer staff members can result in less oversight -- and a lack of checks and balances. Rapid changes in technology and access are also a factor.

Your personal information could be comprised too, often via identity theft. The average identity theft victim spends 600 hours clearing their identity. This means getting reports and affidavits proving the theft, figuring out what's been compromised, and working to get their identity back.

A world-wide survey by PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 2009 found that 88 percent of U.S. companies that reported some type of fraud also reported declines in financial performances.  Further, the amount of fraud being perpetrated against businesses is getting worse, both in terms of the number of instances and the amount of money being lost.

The bad news is that you cannot protect yourself 100% from identity theft.

The good news is you can greatly reduce your risk by acting quickly when your personal and business information has been compromised, as well as leveraging tools and prudent practices to protect yourself.

Join us to learn how to protect your business and personal life against fraudulent activities. You will be glad you came!
